Yoga Classes

Playful Flow with Monica

In this class we will explore a variety of different mindful movement practices. Using a more active yoga as the foundation, we will add in movements from qi gong, functional fitness, yin and any other practice I am exploring at the time. By using a variety of practices, we will work towards greater mobility and stability in the joint capsules while also bringing greater elasticity to the muscles. My hope is you enter into a somatic space with the intention of focusing on the internal experience of the movement rather than the external appearance or result of the practice.  Emphasis will be on connecting movement with breath creating a fun, playful flow.

Meet Your Instructor

Monica Tenaya
Monica has been a student of yoga for over a decade, having been a teacher of yoga for almost half that time. She has spent over 500hrs training with Don and Amba Stapleton of Nosara Yoga Institute, is a LMT with over 700hrs of training, and a Thai yoga massage therapist as well. She is influenced by many forms of yoga and movement practices and her knowledge of the human body and its mechanics of movement are intertwined throughout the flows she designs for her classes. When not practicing yoga, you will find her tending to her chickens, ducks, bees and garden or biking, climbing or traveling.

Feel Good Flow with Sherika

In this class, we will connect with our own individual bodies by engaging deeply with the senses in order to create mindful and sustainable movement that anyone of any fitness level can do. After connecting with our breath and sensual awareness, we will warm our bodies slowly and methodically, building to a smooth and dynamic flow before cooling down to a restorative Shavasana.

We will use a variety of practices in this class to get into our bodies - everything from Vinyasa, Yin, & Restorative Yoga as the foundation of the flow - to Qi Gong, Functional Fitness, Breathwork, Balance & Mobility exercises to support our joints, muscle elasticity as well as mental and emotional health.

You are encouraged in this class to be your own best authority and you can choose to follow the flow provided, or tune into your own body and adapt as needed.

Vinyasa Yoga with Bailey

Bailey’s yoga philosophy is to allow everyone to find their power and freedom in the physical asanas to connect back to themselves and into the present moment. Bailey

Bailey is a lover of all things outdoors and believes bodies are made to stay moving. She was first driven towards yoga as a means to balance her physically active lifestyle, but found yoga provides so much more. The clarity and connections yoga brought to all aspects in her life is what prompted Bailey to pursue her 200-hour YTT. She continues her practice as a student and teacher of many styles of yoga including heated, vinyasa, power, yin, and restorative.

Bailey advises “often the activities or poses we dread are what our bodies need the most.” Balance is vital for physical and mental health, and the practice of yoga combines the two beautifully. Through precise cueing, and nature inspired insights, she will guide you through your flow. So, whether you’re new to the practice of yoga, or experienced, there is always a progression in the physical poses, and in the depth of the mental and spiritual practice.

When Bailey is not on her mat you might see her bouldering around the Asana studio, mountain biking the foothills, summiting mountain peaks with her dogs, or backpacking alpine lakes in Idaho's wilderness. We are all on a crazy journey, and Bailey hopes to share her love and passion for life, through yoga, with those around her.

Vinyasa Yoga with Anthony

This class is designed to develop flexibility and strength as well as drishti, one pointed internal focus, all very helpful in climbing and everyday activities. Vinyasa is a style of Yoga characterized by stringing together postures so that movement is seamless. During this Vinyasa internal heat or tapas will build slowly for greater ranges of movement. Through breathing and movement you will work your way to a pinnacle challenge pose. This class will also involve a variety of inversions, back-bends, arm balances, or single leg balance postures. This class is for all levels.

Meet Your Instructor

Anthony Piva

I began practicing Yoga 20 years ago as a means to expand my climbing and ski mountaineering through balance, flexibility and rehabilitation. Competing in sports when I was younger had taken a toll on my body and so I began by teaching myself from the Sivananda Companion to Yoga, practicing Sivananda Yoga with Dondi at Tejas Yoga in Driggs, Idaho and Anusara Yoga with Neesha Zollinger at her studio Akasha Yoga in Jackson, Wyoming. I gained great health that allowed me to accomplish many summits all over the world. Last year, I finally, with great faith in the universe that I was made of pure sound (OM), entered into the Yoga teacher training at Sage Yoga and Wellness in Boise, Idaho and gained my 200-hour RYT certification. My practice is a full range of pranayama, standing postures, sitting postures, arm balancing and inversions that are tailored to fit students' needs. The vinyasa is geared to enhance your climbing and well-being.

(Re)Source Yin with Bonnie

This 60 minute class, positioned just prior to lunch, is the perfect opportunity to tap-out and take a break. You will be encouraged to literally hit the pause button as you lay down on your mat: a pause from the swirl of your day, a pause from mediating your experience through others, a pause to digest what life has dished up before taking any more in. The Yin practice hones your ability to check in with what's up under your own hood. Just like any other Yoga out there, you will be employing your attention through your breath. With a keen interest in releasing the gross tension patterns in the body, the longer holds create space to discover and dissolve any deeper, more subtle holding patterns that divert and leak your energy, preventing you from fully showing up for your present moment. This practice is restorative sun nature, mostly on the floor, utilizing props to ease you toward a more relaxed and flexible mind-body state. I look forward to meeting you and guiding you here.

Meet Your Instructor

Bonnie Oshea

Hello Asana Community,

I am Bonnie O'Shea and I look forward to meeting you and contributing to your experience of yoga. I specialize in teaching students who are open to the full spectrum of mind-body benefits that a complete yoga practice offers. There are no physical or intellectual prerequisites for dropping into a practice with me. The benefits of practice include, but are not limited to, more ease in the physical body, greater clarity of mind, improved emotional resilience, and strengthened connections to your beauty, power, and truth.

I can humbly recall the beginning of my yoga journey. I was incredibly stiff and definitely felt pretty uncoordinated.
Yet, when I rose up from the mat after the final posture of sivasana, I felt as though I had truly come home. It did not take long to develop an unwavering recognition that this practice would support my process of living the highest version of who I was capable of being. A dedicated yoga practice is a deep adventure and a catalyst for personal transformation as it is really an invitation to investigate your mystery, always revealing your sacred essential self. Walking this path, you will be nourished by the fruits of your practice; embodied compassionate self-awareness, radical self-acceptance, and a structure for consciousness.

Yoga holds no expectations of you and meets you exactly where you are. I look forward to meeting you there, on your mat.

Blessings. Namaste.

Straps

Aerial Straps - All Levels Instruction

Aerial straps are two straps attached to swivels, a rigging plate, and a single rig point. This configuration allows aerialists to perform several twists, rolls, and various body positions requiring a great deal of strength and precision. In this course, students will learn standard conditioning movements that build a solid foundation for straps like straight arm inversions, skin the cats, nutcrackers, and meat-hooks.

Advanced students will learn the straps conditioning essentials while also exploring higher level strength moves such as back flags, levers, and muscle-ups. All of which are tailored to the student's pace and level. The aerial straps discipline requires a good deal of strength and primarily targets the shoulders and upper body. The course will help to increase your strength overall and serves as a great cross-training apparatus for any aerial discipline or climbing in general.
